Holes that climb and fall through the hills behind Elviria, the bay of Marbella opening up behind you on the way back, and an academy at the clubhouse where half the neighbourhood learned to play. Marbella Golf & Country Club lies seven kilometres east of the town, and it is the quiet Trent Jones course of this coast. If you want to buy here, this page starts with the properties for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club: one new development within a kilometre, from about 1,250,000 euros, each with the measured metres to the course.

I live in Estepona and have accompanied buyers along this coast since 2019. East Marbella rewards people who look past the famous valley: the golf here is just as good, the ground is greener and the prices, while firmly Marbella, buy more space. The properties for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club start under half a million.

The properties for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club, by the metre

Our own measurement of 15 October 2026 counts one new development within 500 metres of the course, two within 1.5 kilometres and six within two and a half. The apartments for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club start at about 499,000 euros, and the villas for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club and the largest homes reach 5.2 million.

The distances below are measured to the edge of this course, so a figure of two kilometres means a five-minute drive rather than a walk. Where one of the new developments at Marbella Golf & Country Club sits at the fairway, the metres say so.

The spread between the schemes here is wide because they sit at different heights and different distances from the sand. The ones on the hill look over the course and the bay and are quiet at night; the ones nearer the coast road are a short walk from the beach clubs and carry a premium for it. Both are Marbella addresses, and the difference in price per square metre between them is larger than most buyers expect.

Age is the other dividing line. This hillside was built in waves — the first urbanisations around the hotels in the sixties and seventies, a second round in the nineties when the course opened, and the current generation on the plots that were left. A new building between mature gardens has trees and distance around it; one in a newer cluster has neighbours at the same height. The properties for sale at Marbella Golf Country Club include both, and the brochures rarely make the difference clear.

What is worth asking about every scheme up here is the drive. These streets wind, and two kilometres on the map can be seven minutes in practice; I time them on the way to viewings so the figure in your head matches the one on the clock.

One more thing separates this hillside from the valley in the west: there is still land. Plots come free here more often than in Nueva Andalucia, which means the choice is wider and the prices are set by competition rather than by scarcity. For a buyer who is not in a hurry, that is the single best reason to look east.

The wider choice in the municipality is listed under new developments in Marbella.

Marbella Golf & Country Club is a Robert Trent Jones design

It belongs to the family of courses that shaped this coast: Sotogrande 1964, Las Brisas 1968, Valderrama 1975, Los Naranjos 1977, La Duquesa 1989 and this one in 1994. The same hand is visible in the shapes — raised greens, bunkers you can see from the tee, and a routing that uses the hillside rather than flattening it.

It plays to par 72 from every tee: 5,953 metres from the back, 5,602 from the club tees and 4,777 from the front. The ground is hilly, with several real climbs between holes, so a buggy is the normal choice here; in exchange the views over the bay from the upper holes are among the best on this side of Marbella. The practice facilities are rated good, and the club's own academy sits at the clubhouse.

The card is worth reading carefully before you judge the course by its length. Under 6,000 metres sounds short, but on this terrain the climbs add a club to half the approach shots and the wind off the sea does the rest on the way home. Members here talk about the course the way players talk about a links: the number on the card is the least interesting thing about it.

An academy on site changes what a golf address is worth to a family. Children can start here, an adult beginner has somewhere to go that is not the first tee, and a visiting friend with no handicap certificate still has a way to spend the morning. Not every course in our area offers that, and it is worth more than a few hundred metres of length.

How Marbella Golf & Country Club fits into the week

This is the green side of Marbella: pine woods, hills, and the beach ten minutes down the road. The address trades the bustle of the west for space and quiet, and it keeps the town within reach.

  • The academy: coaching and practice at the clubhouse, for every level in the family.
  • The hills: views over the bay from the upper holes, and air that is a degree or two cooler than the coast.
  • The beach: Las Chapas and Elviria, a few minutes down the hill, with the best-known beach clubs of the coast.
  • Marbella old town: about ten minutes west for the orange square, the market and the promenade.
  • Playing year: golf in every month, with the shade of the pines in the summer.

If you want to compare it with the other courses on this coast before you choose a home, the new developments on the golf courses between Sotogrande and Marbella are collected on their own page, each with the distance to its nearest course.

Three more courses within three kilometres of Marbella Golf & Country Club

East Marbella has fewer courses than the valley and more room between them. We measured boundary to boundary from the outlines of every course on this coast, so these are real distances across the ground and not driving times.

  • Santa Clara Golf, about 777 m: no rough, a river in play on eight holes.
  • Greenlife Golf, about 2.5 km: a nine-hole course at Elviria, good for a quick round.
  • Río Real Golf, about 3.0 km: the Javier Arana course from 1965 that runs to the beach.
  • Cabopino Golf, fifteen minutes east: short, tight and above the dunes.

Four courses within a ten-minute drive, each with a different character: for a player who likes variety but dislikes traffic, this corner works better than its reputation suggests.

Living beside Marbella Golf & Country Club: Elviria, Las Chapas and the beach

This is the part of Marbella that grew up around hotels and pine woods rather than marinas. Las Chapas and Elviria below the course have supermarkets, a handful of restaurants, an international school and some of the best-known beach clubs on the coast.

The pine woods are what people remember from a first visit. The belt of umbrella pines between the coast road and the hills was left standing when the first urbanisations went in, so the streets run under a canopy and the air is noticeably cooler as soon as you leave the motorway. In August that is worth more than a sea view, and it is the reason this corner has always attracted buyers who intend to live here rather than visit.

Marbella old town is about ten minutes west along the coast road, with the orange square, the daily market and the promenade. Eastwards, Cabopino and its marina follow in ten minutes and Fuengirola in twenty-five. The hospital and the shopping centres of Marbella are within a quarter of an hour.

Málaga airport is about 40 kilometres east, which is the practical advantage of this side of town: under an hour door to door on the motorway, and the train from Fuengirola for anyone who would rather not drive.

What the properties for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club cost

The homes for sale near Marbella Golf & Country Club are Marbella prices with a little more room. On our own survey of 14 October 2026 the New Build median stood at 7,960 euros per square metre in Marbella, across 99 projects and 335 units, against 6,709 in Benahavís and 5,118 in Estepona.

In Las Chapas and El Rosario the public price index recorded 5,433 euros per square metre for existing homes in September 2026, 5.6% above the same month a year earlier and 84% above the level of five years ago. Those are past figures for resale homes in the neighbourhood and say nothing about any single development, but an 84% rise over five years shows that the east has kept pace with the famous west.

Holiday letting earns at the top of our range here. Our own analysis of all whole homes let to holiday guests in the municipality of Marbella, over the 36 months to August 2026, measured 208 euros a night typically and 325 euros in the upper quarter, with occupancy between 38% and 63% over the year, from 5,166 active holiday homes. Across a full year that works out at 32,769 to 56,828 euros of revenue for a home let all year round. Those are measured figures for comparable homes in the neighbourhood, not a promise for a particular property, and how they fit into a wider plan is set out in my guide to investing in Spanish property.

Eighteen holes with a buggy, then three terraces at three different heights. The schemes here are spread over a hillside rather than packed together, so the morning includes some driving — and that is the point, because the drive is what you would be doing every day. You can buy off-plan and choose the floor and the finishes, or buy a home that is ready to move into; both are for sale beside the course today.

Two days are enough. One morning for the course and the homes on the hill, one afternoon down at the beach clubs of Elviria and Las Chapas, because the combination of the two is what this address really offers: golf in the pines in the morning, the sand twenty minutes later.

Bring your questions about community fees, handover dates and the academy's programme if the family plays, and tell me whether you want the hill or the beach — that answer sorts the properties for sale at Marbella Golf & Country Club into a shortlist of two or three.
