Twenty-seven holes folded into the hills above San Pedro, with Marbella spread out below and the sea filling the gap between the fairways. La Quinta Golf is the address for people who want their golf before breakfast and their evening in Puerto Banús, ten minutes down the hill. If you want to buy here, this page starts with the properties for sale at La Quinta Golf: six new developments within a kilometre, from about 473,000 euros, each with the measured metres to the course.

I live in Estepona and have accompanied buyers along this coast since 2019. This is the busiest end of our area and the most expensive, and it rewards a careful look: the properties for sale at La Quinta Golf run from a large apartment to a villa at six and a half million, and the difference in daily life between them is smaller than the price suggests.

The properties for sale at La Quinta Golf, by the metre

Our own measurement of 15 October 2026 counts six new developments within one kilometre of the course boundary, three of them within 300 metres. The apartments for sale at La Quinta Golf begin at about 708,000 euros, and the villas for sale at La Quinta Golf run from around four million to six and a half.

The distances below come from the course outline, not from a brochure. Where one of the new developments at La Quinta Golf sits directly above the fairways, the metres say so; everything else is measured to the nearest edge of the course.

Three questions decide the shortlist here, and none of them is the floor plan. How much garden do you want to look after when you are away for three months? How private does the terrace need to be, given that the hillside means your neighbour above looks across your roof rather than into your living room? And do you want to walk to the first tee or drive the two minutes? The homes for sale near La Quinta Golf answer those three questions very differently, which is why I show at least one of each type on a first visit.

The spread between an apartment and a villa here is the widest of any course in our area, and the reason is the slope. The higher plots have the panoramic view over the valley to the sea and the privacy of a single house, while the apartment schemes sit lower, closer to the clubhouse, with shared pools and gardens and a fraction of the upkeep. Which of the two you want is usually clear within ten minutes of standing on each.

Beyond the one-kilometre circle another two projects stand within 1.5 kilometres, and the wider choice is listed under new developments in Benahavís and new developments in Marbella.

La Quinta Golf has 27 holes and an academy with a Ryder Cup name

The course opened in 1989 and was laid out by Manuel Piñero, the Ryder Cup winner and three-time world champion, who still heads the academy he founded here in 1990. Three loops of nine — San Pedro, Ronda and Guadaiza — combine into three different eighteens, each playing to par 71.

Each loop has its own character. San Pedro is the open one with generous fairways and the shorter card, Ronda is tighter with the most demanding greens, and Guadaiza runs through slopes and doglegs that ask for shaped shots. From the back tees the San Pedro and Guadaiza combination measures 5,915 metres, from the club tees 5,667 and from the front 4,991, which means the same course works for a single-figure player and for someone who plays twice a month.

The academy is the part buyers underestimate. A teaching operation of this standing on your doorstep changes what a family does with its weekends: children who start here at eight are playing full rounds at twelve, and an adult beginner has no excuse left. It is also why the clubhouse is busy on a Tuesday in November.

How La Quinta Golf fits into a day between the hills and Marbella

Nine holes before nine o'clock, San Pedro for the shopping, Puerto Banús for dinner: this address makes all three a normal Tuesday. The hill position is what makes it work, because everything is downhill and close.

  • Three loops: a different eighteen on consecutive days without leaving the estate.
  • San Pedro de Alcántara: five minutes down the hill, with a real Spanish high street, a hospital and the boulevard.
  • Puerto Banús: ten minutes east, for the marina, the restaurants and the evening.
  • Benahavís village: fifteen minutes up the valley, the gastronomic village of the province.
  • Playing year: golf in every month, and the hills stay a few degrees cooler in August.

If you want to compare it with the other courses on this coast before you choose a home, the new developments on the golf courses between Sotogrande and Marbella are collected on their own page, each with the distance to its nearest course.

Five more courses within three kilometres of La Quinta Golf

The famous golf valley of Nueva Andalucía begins on the other side of the hill. We measured boundary to boundary from the outlines of every course on this coast, so these are real distances across the ground and not driving times.

  • Los Naranjos Golf Club, about 1.5 km: the classic of the valley, long and tree-lined.
  • Magna Marbella Golf, about 2.3 km, and El Higueral Golf, about 2.3 km: two more full layouts in the hills behind.
  • Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, about 2.4 km: one of the oldest and most decorated courses on the coast.
  • La Zagaleta, about 2.4 km: the private estate course above the valley.

Counting the three loops here as one address, that is six courses inside three kilometres, with Aloha, Los Naranjos and Las Brisas turning the valley below into the densest championship golf in Spain.

Living beside La Quinta Golf: Benahavís, San Pedro and Puerto Banús

The address is Benahavís, the daily life is San Pedro, and the evening is Marbella. That combination is why this hillside has been developed for thirty years without losing its value: it is close enough to everything and far enough from the noise.

There is one more thing this hillside gives you that the valley below does not: the drive home. The road up from San Pedro climbs past the river and the golf gates in about four minutes, and with every bend the noise of the coast falls away. Owners describe that stretch of road more often than any feature of their house, and it is a fair measure of what the address is worth — the whole of Marbella within reach, and none of it on your doorstep.

San Pedro de Alcántara, five minutes below, is the most liveable town on this part of the coast — a proper high street, a Saturday market, a hospital, sports clubs and a boulevard built over the old motorway where the whole town walks in the evening. Puerto Banús is ten minutes east, Marbella old town twenty, and the international schools of the western coast are all within a quarter of an hour.

The hill position also settles the summer question. At this height the evenings cool down reliably, the breeze from the sea reaches the terraces, and August nights are a different proposition from the ones at beach level. In exchange you drive to the sand rather than walk, which is the trade most buyers here make knowingly: the beach is for a few months, the terrace is for twelve.

Behind you the valley climbs to Benahavís village, which has more restaurants per inhabitant than anywhere else in the province and a river gorge for the weekend walk. Málaga airport is about 70 kilometres east, and the toll motorway makes that an hour door to door.

What the properties for sale at La Quinta Golf cost

Benahavís is the most expensive of the six municipalities we cover, and this hillside is one of the reasons. On our own survey of 14 October 2026 the New Build median stood at 6,709 euros per square metre in Benahavís, across 82 projects and 278 units, against 5,118 in Estepona. For the same budget you buy noticeably more space twenty minutes west — and noticeably less view over Marbella. That premium is what the properties for sale at La Quinta Golf are really charging for: the hill, the proximity to Puerto Banús and the golf on three sides.

In La Quinta itself the public price index recorded 6,216 euros per square metre for existing homes in September 2026, 8.4% above the same month a year earlier and 86.6% above the level of five years ago. Those are past figures for resale homes in the neighbourhood and say nothing about any single development, but they show how consistently this hillside has held its place at the top of the market.

Holiday letting earns more per night here than anywhere else in our area. Our own analysis of all whole homes let to holiday guests in the municipality of Benahavís, over the 36 months to August 2026, measured 211 euros a night typically and 305 euros in the upper quarter, with occupancy between 35% and 59% over the year, from 468 active holiday homes. Across a full year that works out at 31,871 to 57,263 euros of revenue for a home let all year round. Those are measured figures for comparable homes in the neighbourhood, not a promise for a particular property, and how they fit into a wider plan is set out in my guide to investing in Spanish property.

Nine holes, then three terraces, then lunch in San Pedro. The developments here are minutes apart and the differences are mostly about height and privacy, so one morning on the hill usually settles it. You can buy off-plan and choose the floor and the finishes, or buy a home that is ready to move into; both are for sale beside the course today.

Two or three days are enough to decide, and the order matters: the golf first, because it tells you whether the course suits your game, then the homes from the top of the hill downwards, so the view becomes a measurable difference rather than a feeling. By the end most buyers have sorted the properties for sale at La Quinta Golf into one apartment and one villa, and the choice between those two is a question about the life you want, not about the market.

Bring your questions about community fees, handover dates and the club's current terms, and tell me whether you want the view or the short walk to the clubhouse. An overview of how buying new works on this coast is in my guide to new developments on the Costa del Sol, and the courses further west are covered in the guides to Flamingos Golf and La Resina Golf.
