Nine holes between lakes and olive trees that were old long before the first tee was cut, semi-tropical gardens along the fairways, and a clubhouse where the round ends with a coffee instead of a prize-giving. La Resina Golf is the small course in the Selwo hills of eastern Estepona, and around it a whole neighbourhood has grown. If you want to buy here, this page starts with the properties for sale at La Resina Golf: fifteen new developments within a kilometre, from about 449,000 euros, each with the measured metres to the course.

I live in Estepona and have worked along this coast since 2019. Buyers come to this address for a particular reason: they want golf in the daily routine rather than as an expedition. Nine holes before breakfast, home by ten. The properties for sale at La Resina Golf are built for exactly that rhythm, and they run from ground-floor apartments with their own gardens to villas with the sea in front of them.

The properties for sale at La Resina Golf, by the metre

Our own measurement of 15 October 2026 counts 15 new developments within one kilometre of the course boundary, six of them within 500 metres. The apartments for sale at La Resina Golf begin at about 449,000 euros, townhouses follow from around 785,000, and the villas for sale at La Resina Golf reach 3.25 million.

The searches people type for this address ask for a particular kind of home — ground-floor apartments above all, the ones with a garden of their own on the garden level. Those exist here in most of the projects, and they sell first, so they are worth asking about early.

New developments at La Resina Golf

The distances above come from the course outline, not from a brochure. What the new developments at La Resina Golf share is the hillside: the land rises from the course towards the north, so upper floors look over the gardens and the lakes to the Mediterranean, while the garden apartments trade that view for a terrace you step straight onto.

Three decisions separate the properties for sale at La Resina Golf from one another, and they matter more than the floor plans. The first is the level: a garden apartment gives you a private piece of lawn and the children or the dog straight outside, an upper floor gives you the long view and the evening light. The second is the orientation: south-west terraces keep the sun until it goes down behind the Sierra Bermeja, south-east terraces are cooler in August and brighter at breakfast. The third is the completion date, because several of these projects are still building, and a handover in two years buys at today's price while a finished home can be used next month.

Beyond the one-kilometre circle another seven projects stand within 1.5 kilometres, and the wider choice in the municipality is listed under new developments in Estepona. For the courses further west, see the homes beside Azata Golf and Finca Cortesín Golf.

La Resina Golf is a garden course, not a championship test

Nine holes, par 3 and par 4, opened in 2005 and laid out by the architects Craig Cooke and Bradley Smith. The course weaves around lakes and ancient olive trees, with semi-tropical planting along the fairways and the natural contours of the hillside left where they were. It is regarded as one of the best short courses of this kind on the Costa del Sol, and the condition of the grounds is a large part of that reputation.

What this means in practice is a round you can play in a morning and repeat the next day without it wearing out. Par 3 and par 4 holes reward a clean iron rather than length, which suits a lot of players better than 6,800 metres of championship golf, and the short game area and pitch-and-putt green are where most members spend their time.

The club sets its own terms for play and membership, and those terms matter more here than at a pay-and-play course, so I ask for the current conditions before any viewing trip for a buyer who intends to play daily.

How La Resina Golf fits into the day

The course is inside the neighbourhood, not beside it. That single fact changes how the homes here are used: the walk to the first tee is a walk, the clubhouse doubles as the local café, and the gardens of the course are the view from a good number of terraces.

  • Nine holes: about two hours for a full round, under an hour on your own in the early morning.
  • Water in play: lakes shape several holes, which makes club selection the interesting part rather than raw distance.
  • Olive trees: some of them centuries old, kept where they stood when the land was a farm.
  • Clubhouse: restaurant and bar, the sort of place where the neighbourhood meets without an occasion.
  • Playing year: golf in every month here, with spring and autumn the best of it.

A short course also changes who plays. Couples go round together because neither has to give up half a day; beginners take their first full round here rather than on a championship layout where every lost ball holds up the group behind; and players who have given up the long walk keep playing for another decade. In a neighbourhood built around nine holes, that shows in the clubhouse at eleven in the morning, when the tables are full of people who have already played.

If you want to compare it with the other courses on this coast before you choose a home, the new developments on the golf courses between Sotogrande and Marbella are collected on their own page, each with the distance to its nearest course.

Six golf courses within three kilometres of La Resina Golf

This is the densest golf corner of the whole coast. We measured boundary to boundary from the outlines of every course between Sotogrande and Marbella, so these are real distances across the ground and not driving times.

  • Flamingos Golf, about 1.2 km: the long resort course on the New Golden Mile, with the sea in view from the upper holes.
  • El Coto de la Serena, about 1.4 km: a short par-3 course towards the coast, ideal for an hour with the children.
  • Alferini Golf, about 2.1 km, and Tramores Golf, about 2.4 km: two more full layouts in the same valley.
  • Marbella Club Golf Resort, about 2.8 km, and El Paraíso Golf Club, about 3.0 km: the classic names of Benahavís and the New Golden Mile.

For a golfer, this is the argument that no photograph makes: six courses, six different rounds, all of them inside a three-kilometre circle around the front door.

Living beside La Resina Golf: Selwo, the beach and the New Golden Mile

The course sits in the hills behind the coast, with the beach two to four kilometres below and Marbella twenty minutes east. This is the eastern end of Estepona, where the municipality runs into the New Golden Mile, and it is one of the quietest residential corners of the coast.

Daily life is a short drive rather than a walk: supermarkets and restaurants two to four kilometres away, the motorway between two and four kilometres, Estepona old town about eleven kilometres west with its painted streets and its Sunday market. Puerto Banús is a twenty-minute drive east, and the Selwo wildlife park sits at the motorway exit, which makes this a popular address with families who have grandchildren visiting.

What the New Golden Mile adds is everything a second home needs without the prices of the first: international schools within a twenty-minute drive, beach clubs along the coast road, padel courts, a hospital in Estepona and a second one in San Pedro, and supermarkets of every size. It is the reason so many families settle on this stretch rather than in Marbella itself — the same coast, the same schools, a shorter drive to the sea and considerably more garden for the money.

The beaches below are long and open, backed by chiringuitos rather than promenades, and both airports are comfortable: Málaga about 65 to 75 kilometres east, Gibraltar roughly an hour west. What you hear from most terraces here is the wind in the olive trees, and that is precisely what buyers come for.

What the properties for sale at La Resina Golf cost

Selwo has been the strongest neighbourhood in Estepona over the past five years, and the homes for sale near La Resina Golf carry that. The public price index recorded 7,365 euros per square metre for existing homes in Selwo in September 2026, 49.7% above the same month a year earlier and 162.4% above the level of five years ago. Those are past figures for resale homes in the neighbourhood and say nothing about any single development, but they show where the demand has gone.

For the municipality as a whole, our own survey of 14 October 2026 put the New Build median at 5,118 euros per square metre, across 153 projects and 1,069 units. The homes around this course sit above that median, which is what you would expect of the neighbourhood with the strongest five-year record. How New Build and Resale prices relate here is set out in my note on New Builds in Selwo.

Many owners here let the house to holiday guests in the weeks they are away. Our own analysis of all whole homes let to holiday guests in the municipality of Estepona, over the 36 months to August 2026, measured 175 euros a night typically and 238 euros in the upper quarter, with occupancy between 42% and 67% over the year and 57% to 81% in summer. Across a full year that works out at 28,333 to 47,288 euros of revenue for a home let all year round. Those are measured figures for comparable homes in the neighbourhood, not a promise for a particular apartment, and how they fit into a wider plan is set out in my guide to investing in Spanish property.

Nine holes, then three terraces. The developments here are close enough together that we walk several of them between the round and lunch, and the differences are easy to see on the ground: which terrace faces the lakes, which one gets the evening sun, which garden apartment opens straight onto the grass. You can buy off-plan and choose the floor and the finishes, or buy a home that is ready to move into; both are for sale beside the course today.

Bring your questions about community fees, handover dates and the club's current terms, and tell me whether you want the garden or the view — that one answer narrows the properties for sale at La Resina Golf to a shortlist of three or four. An overview of how buying new works on this coast is in my guide to new developments on the Costa del Sol.
